Job Recruitment Lancashire

In Lancashire during the mid 1980s, the retailing and financial sectors became the biggest employers in the region, especially within the marketing and product services industry. Nowadays, a significant rise in the public sector services like health, education and welfare have given rise to the increase in the number of governmental vacancies available in the region.

This growth in the public service sector has not only been responsible for increased wealth in the region, but has also led to a continued increase in co-operation and support within the employment market. Due to small business development in the private sector, especially with regard to telesales and call centres, customer services and debt management, recruitment agencies are expanding their services to meet the needs of this market. This means they post more part – time and flexible positions to support these types of businesses.

Official government statistics pertaining to the demand for employees in Lancashire puts the production and construction industries at the top of the list with 21%. The lowest percent at 1% was in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors. Wholesale and distributive trades, health and social work, sales and business activities, education, hotels and restaurants fill the remaining of 78%.

In light of these statistics, opportunities for graduates through recruitment agencies have been on the increase due to the direction the job market has taken. Graduate vacancies are now more apparent in business services, information technology and communications and also increasingly in science, engineering and advanced science technology, as well as in the more traditional sectors like health and education.
